A Routine is a prompt that runs on a schedule. You write the prompt, pick the cadence, and the result arrives by email and in the app.
Your weekly brief is separate. That one is built in and free, and it switches on once your own handle is added in My Brand and at least five creators are followed. Routines are the ones you create. See Your weekly brief.
Making one
Two ways, both under New routine on the Routines page.
Create with Vamos. Describe what you want in plain language and it sets the prompt and the schedule for you. Faster, and it usually asks the questions you would have forgotten.
Set up manually. Write the title, the prompt, and choose the schedule yourself.
Either way you end up in the same place, and you can edit it afterwards.
Scheduling
Daily, weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. Pick the day, the time, and the time zone.
Routines fire within a few minutes of the time you set, in your zone rather than ours.
Where results arrive
In the app, on the Routines page and on the New chat page, and by email to you.
Ask Vamos in chat and it can send a Routine to up to three email addresses, which is the way to get a client or a colleague on the distribution without giving them an account. Each Routine has one Email switch, under Settings on its page, and no address field. Switch it off if you only want results in the app.
How many you get
Depends on your plan, and the counter on the page shows where you are. Free has one, and paid plans have more. See Plans, credits and prices.
Pausing a Routine does not use up a slot in the way an active one does, so pausing rather than deleting is the right move for something seasonal.
The starters
Seven are built in, and the page suggests up to six at a time. They are worth reading even if you write your own, because they show the shape of a prompt that works on a schedule.
Weekly plan lays out your week from what is working and writes the first two posts in full.
Trend report covers the week's biggest trends in your niche with proof and one post to make.
Competitor watch finds your competitors' outliers and writes your version of the best one.
Viral remake takes the week's biggest outlier in your niche and writes your own version.
Weekly review finds your own outliers and the one thing to do more of.
Today's post finds one thing worth posting today from the last 24 hours.
Refresh past winners rebuilds posts that already worked into new ones.
Each has a version for a personal brand and one for a company, and you can preview a starter before turning it on. Weekly review and Refresh past winners are only suggested once your own handle is added in My Brand.
Running one now
Run now on any Routine, which is how to see what it produces without waiting for the schedule. Useful right after writing one.
Credits
Routines spend credits like any other work, from the same account balance.
A run that fails is not charged. If a run breaks, it tries again on the next schedule.
If you are out of credits when a run is due, it does not run and tells you that was why. You also get an email saying so, at most once a day for each workspace. Routines stay on when a plan ends, so turn off any you no longer want.
Editing, pausing and deleting
Every Routine has edit, pause, resume and delete. The switch at the top right of its page pauses and resumes it, and edit and delete are under Settings. Deleting a Routine keeps the chats it already produced, so your history is not lost with it.
