Your subscription

Upgrading, switching to yearly, cancelling, and what happens when a payment fails.

Everything here lives in Settings, then Billing.

Settings, Billing tab: “Your plan” Pro with “Manage subscription” and “Upgrade”, a Monthly/Yearly toggle, Pro and Business

Changing plan

Pick the plan you want on the Billing tab in Settings, then confirm it in the billing portal that opens. Moving up takes effect immediately: you are charged the prorated difference at once, and your credit allowance follows.

You are granted the difference rather than a fresh allowance. If you have 1,400 of 2,000 credits left and move to a 6,000 plan, you end up with 5,400. Moving down waits for the end of the period you have paid for, then caps your balance at the new allowance instead of wiping it.

Monthly and yearly

Switch in the billing portal: Settings, then Billing, then Manage subscription. The toggle on the Billing tab only changes the prices on the plan cards. Yearly is nine months for twelve, and yearly plans still receive their credits monthly rather than as one lump.

A move from monthly to yearly is charged at once. A move from yearly to monthly starts when the year you paid for ends.

Ending a trial early

If you are on a trial and want to start paying now, use the upgrade action on the Billing tab in Settings. You are charged in full immediately, the trial ends, and your plan's credits become available straight away.

This is also the way to pay without waiting out the trial: checkout offers the trial to first subscriptions, so start it and then end it here.

Cancelling

Settings, then Billing, then Manage subscription. That opens the billing portal, where cancelling lives, along with your card and your invoices.

You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and Billing then shows the exact date.

After that the app locks until you pick a plan again. Settings stays open, but chat and Connectors stop. Nothing is deleted. Your chats, docs, creator lists, brand and voice all stay.

Your Routines stay switched on. With no credits each run fails and you get an email about it, at most once a day per workspace, so switch them off before the end date if you do not want the emails.

If you change your mind before the end date, Keep my plan on the Billing tab opens the billing portal, where you can stop the cancellation.

On a trial, cancelling costs nothing. The charge at the end of the seven days simply never happens.

Cancelling while a payment is failing

This case works differently, and it is the one people write to us about.

If a payment is already failing when you cancel, the portal ends the subscription immediately rather than at the end of the period, and the unpaid invoice is voided. There is no period left to run out, and no further attempts are made on your card.

If you see a payment attempt after cancelling, tell us in Live chat from the user menu or at [email protected] and we will check the payment record and stop it. Do not wait for it to settle itself.

Downgrading with more than the new plan allows

Nothing is destroyed. Workspaces above your new limit are locked rather than deleted, and open again if you upgrade. Creator lists you already have stay, but you cannot create new ones past the limit.

When a payment fails

You keep paid access while Stripe retries, but your next month's credits arrive only once a payment goes through. You will see a prompt to update your payment method, and updating it is the whole fix. Until the payment goes through, the billing portal offers your card, your invoices and cancelling, but no plan changes.

If collection never succeeds the subscription ends and the app locks until you pick a plan again. At the trial's card check, two card problems have their own messages, and they mean what they say: there were not enough funds, or the card details could not be verified. See Payment and card problems.

Invoices

Settings, then Invoices lists every payment on the workspace that went through, and receipts are issued by Stripe.
